CABS – a consulting firm offering the lab animal, as well as the private sector community, a bridge to determining ways to enhance your program.


CABS is Catherine Carrier, DVM, DACLAM, and Jim Weed, PhD.


Dr. Carrier graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and then served in the US Army Veterinary Corp at multiple R&D sites. Most of her career has been spent working in fast paced CROs, academia, and animal production facilities where she achieved ACLAM board certification by the experience route. Today, she has her own business offering onsite clinical laboratory animal veterinary relief and consulting.

 

Dr. Weed has 40 yrs of experience working in the laboratory animal community. He specializes in behavioral management; assessment of socialization challenges for all animals; and designing innovative laboratory housing. He is a subject matter expert in non-human primate behavior and lab animal socializations. Dr. Weed previously directed and implemented the behavioral management programs for the Division of Veterinary Resources at NIH and the Comparative Medicine Branch at the CDC.
